Jim is originally from the Cleveland, OH area and his wife Kala is originally from the tip of the thumb in Michigan. (Michiganders always reference the mitten shape of their state when discussing what part they are from.) They met while both were still active duty in the Air Force. Upon Jim’s retirement from the Air Force, he felt called to join the Mountain Springs team and is pleased to be able to settle down in one location. Jim and Kala enjoy spending time camping in the mountains with their 5 young children.
Jim gained a love of working with his hands from his father. His father taught him the skills as he finished basements, repaired, and built each time they moved while he was growing up. Jim is now passionate about using these skills, tools, and love of building to put loving others into action! Jim gets excited about empowering God’s people to go out into the neighborhoods and the nations to use their hands to build, fix and share the love of God.
