Good Friday is more than a tradition. It is where reconciliation begins. We were once separated from God, without hope and unable to bridge the divide on our own. At the cross, Jesus stepped into that separation, taking our sin upon Himself and making peace through His sacrifice. The cross does not ignore the problem. It absorbs it. Before we celebrate the resurrection, we pause to remember where peace was made and access to God was opened. Even in the weight of the cross, we hold onto hope. Sunday is coming.
Easter is more than a celebration. It is the announcement of reconciliation. Once we were far from God, without hope. But through the death and resurrection of Jesus, we have been brought near. Peace was made. The walls came down. Access to God was opened. What began at the cross is declared in the resurrection. We are no longer strangers. In Christ, we belong. Jesus is alive, and God’s new creation has begun.
