Russ was born in Neptune, New Jersey, and raised in the small town of Farmingdale, just minutes from the Jersey shore. After graduating from Howell High, he chose a path of service by joining the United States Air Force, where he dedicated 27 years of his life to serving his country. It was during his time in the Air Force that Russ experienced a life-changing encounter with the Lord—a moment that set him on a new trajectory, one filled with purpose and a deep calling to ministry.
While stationed at Pope Air Force Base, Russ met Jacqueline, the love of his life, and it truly was love at first sight. Their bond has grown stronger every year, and after more than 22 years of marriage, Russ and Jacqueline remain madly in love, sharing their lives with their five incredible children. Together, they cherish family time, whether it’s hiking Colorado’s beautiful trails, casting a fishing line into a quiet stream, or simply enjoying each other’s company.
Russ’s passion for God’s Word isn’t just a personal interest—it’s a calling that drives his life. Following his encounter with Christ, he pursued a deep academic and spiritual preparation, earning a Master’s degree in Christian Ministry Leadership, an MDIV in Church Leadership, and a Doctorate in Expository Preaching and Teaching from Liberty University. For Russ, studying the Bible is not only a joy but also a sacred responsibility—a way to know God more intimately and lead others on their spiritual journeys.
Now, as part of Mountain Springs Church, Russ is honored to serve in ministry, walking alongside others as they seek to know and follow God. He’s passionate about seeing lives transformed through the power of Scripture and loves nothing more than guiding others toward a deeper relationship with Christ.
Whether coaching his kids in sports, exploring the great outdoors, or diving into the richness of God’s Word, Russ is grateful for the opportunity to glorify God in every aspect of life. He’s humbled by the calling to serve and looks forward to continuing to grow in faith, family, and ministry.
