Michaela, or “Mik” as she’s known by some, is a Colorado native, the oldest of five kids, and grew up at MSC. She married her longtime friend Vladimir in 2018, but their story started back in high school at MSC’s Elevate after Vlad was adopted from Ukraine. He became close friends with Michaela’s brother as they attended—and later served in—youth groups together. After years of crossing paths, shared family memories, and eventually working at the same HVAC company, Michaela and Vlad realized they were meant to do life together. Now they have two daughters, Evelyn and Yelena, who keep life loud, fun, messy, busy, and full of joy. As a family, they love movies, concerts, museums, board games, random adventures, and making memories together wherever they go. From a young age, Michaela has always loved working with kids because they are genuine, curious, hilarious, and completely unafraid to say exactly what’s on their mind—even when it’s at full volume in the middle of church. She loves helping kids grow a bold and genuine faith in Jesus while reminding them that God can use anyone who believes in Him. Her favorite reminders from the Bible are, first, that David’s victory against Goliath came not because he fought well, but because he believed well. And second, from Esther, that we are all placed here at this time, on purpose and for a purpose. How beautiful and precious it is that the God of the universe sees each of us right where we are, loves us, and wants us to be part of His story.
